The East Center Courts are Open

Opening ceremonies took place for the long awaited additional courts. More than 300 GVR members & guest attended the 10 am event.
The Grand Opening with speeches, refreshments & accolades was held inside at the East Center.
GVR's CEO, Kent Blumenthal open the event and gave credit where credit was due.
GVR board member & pBall Club member, Ron Sills provided the history of acquiring the new courts. He told of the long and agonizing
meetings of the Planning & Evaluation Committee and the Outdoor Raquet Sports Task Force.
Club president Donna Coon told of the efforts to educate the Committee and taskforce members and thanked the pBall player for their patience and the GVR staff for their support and encouragement that new courts would be built someday.
Our club donated five-hundred dollars to the newly formed GVR Foundation. Donna Coon (middle) presented the $500 check to GVR Foundation President, Anne Waisman as Kent Blumenthal looks on.
Long time club member Bud Heller and past president praised the committees and CEO Blumenthal for their efforts of getting it do!
Paul May presented Donna Coon with a gift from Dave Coffman, a section of the tree that almost keep our courts from being built. Dave made the gift and it is engraved with Donna's name, date of new courts along with the slogan, "Bye, bye tree".
